Has anyone got any idio,s on making a jigg to sharpen your oun planer blade,s. Plane ruff lumber and go thrue allot of knife,s

Not too sure this will help, but...

I do have a fixture I made to do my own, BUT I use a surface grinder to sharpen them. Since most folks do not have a surface grinder....
I recall the old Rockwell wedge bed planers had an accesory where you could sharpen knives in the machine. I believe it had an indexing head, and there were two bars you attached to the top of the machine (guards removed, and of course power disconect). They had a small motor and a carrige rode on the bars (parallel to the knives) this would in turn "hollow" grind the knives??? Maybe you could find one of these and modify it to fit your machine???
