That came home with me, today,,,,
471595
Nothing real special...about $12 + tax..the one with the pencil appears to be brass...

Then..
471596
Sitting there on the top shelf, trying to hide...price tag said $65 + Sales Tax....picked it up to look it over,,,and could not set it back down...so
471598
A look at the Forcastle....and...
471599
Has a groovy sole...and..
471600
Well, it IS a Type 19, after all....Number?
471601
Takes up half of the table...almost..
471602
Stanley No. 8c, Type 19. For $69 and change? Sound better than either of these two...
471603
The one in front is a No. 7c...$135+tax...the one behind it is also a newer No.7 at $150....decided to pas on these two...

Was a nice, but LONG day trip...

Plane til today...
471604
This one looked nice..
471605
Except it was missing a cutter...
471606
Well, that is one way to keep a Match Plane set together..
471607
A shelf of mostly wooden Molding planes...
471608
Sometimes, they even have the correct cutters in them....

Then...
471609
Room was billed as a "Man Cave"....this was the only tools to be seen...
471610
And that rusty No. 101 was $25? Not.

Fettling: No.8c had "issues"
471871
Bolt had a burr that needed ground off...and..
471872
The lever cap also had a large burr...between the two of them...you HAD to remove the bolt before the lever cap would come off....got that fixed...

Iron was a different story...
471873
Not the best look? Ground back until...
471874
The pits had left the building..then over to the new H-F Disc/Belt sander....and a glass of water...ground a new bevel, using what was left of the old one as a guide...enough to get to the stones..
471875
From a coarse Crystolon up to a 600 grit Medium India,,,then the 1500 grit wet or dry, then the 2000 grit wet or dry....then..
471876
Finished up on the leather belt and green stick strop...then a couple test drives, to set things up again..was a little deep..
471877
Busy day, I also worked on the other 2 planes sitting there....Millers Falls No.9, Type 2...and the Sargent No.3416 Jack plane...

471878
Which is a Cambered Jack....

Back of right knee was saying it was quitting time...

Geez, I wish I had the selection to pick from that you do. Everything here lately has been dried up and expensive.
