Please give me some recommendations on a clear, non-gloss finish I can buy in a spray can at Ace or Home Depot. I am almost done building a small maple cabinet (20"H X 20"W X 7"D) and I want to use a spray finish to complete the job. I usually use General wipe-on finishes, but for this job a spray can would be better and faster. Would I be wise to choose spray varathane, lacquer or something else? Thanks.

Dave, personally, I like to use lacquer. Goes on fast, dries fast, easy to touch up if/when needed. I typically will go with the glossy, because once it's setup, you can then rub it down to whatever grade of gloss you like. :)

I'm with John. I like Deft in a spray can. Just be intelligent about where and how you spray. Deft also comes in different glosses but high gloss may not be as glossy as high gloss ploy.
