Hi Gang,

Found some mini turning tools at Woodcraft yesterday, although they are noted as carving tools, they are similar to the tools we use in turning, deep plough- can be used as a bottom flat scraper, paring - works like a parting tool , v parting, gouge and skew. Size is 1.5mm. Used them last night and so far very pleased. I will note, they are not cheep, not meaning quality, the price. Made in USA.

Looks like they oughta work. Did you chamfer the handles or did they come like that?

Hey Bill I got a set of carving tools at one of the hobby stores. Used them to carve on clock cases when needed. I got them out last night and played around with them on the lathe. I think they just might work for mini's.

If this keeps up, we may have to start a "Mini" forum!

Bill I hope you are having better luck with getting them sharp. The wife has started turning minnies---your fault---and I got the job of keeping those tiny tools sharp. Any tips?????????

Carole, that's the way they came.

Gary, on the small tools all I use is an oil stone for sharpening, and at times give em a leather lick.

Bruce, it sure would be a "Mini Forum"
