Which blade do you think would be a better choice. I'd like a good combination blade so I dont need to make to many blade changes. Freud has so many blades to pick from and I haven't figured out thier numbering scheme yet. I'm looking for good quality and willing to spend the extra $ if needed.

Freud LU84R011 10" x 50-Tooth Combination Blade

$60.00

or

Freud F410 10", 40-Tooth Hyper-Finish General Purpose Blade

$85.00

The F410 is a very, very good blade and similar to the Forrest WW-II. It's definitely the better blade of the two you reference.

I have the Freud TK 906 combination blade & it cuts very good. I also picked up the Freud glue line rip blade from Sears on a special 2 for one sale so my buddy & I each got one for a little over $17 each. I haven use it other than trial rips but they were real nice clean rips.

I used the F410 for almost 8 months as a combo, excellent blade and currently out for sharpening.

Definitely the F410...it'll cut cleaner and is worth the few extra dollars IMO. It's considered to the equal of the WWII by many. The LU84R011 is very good, but not quite to the level of the WWII in my experiences with it. Rockler has it for $75.

I think that I have the LU84R011, but I'm not certain. I do know that it is a Freud 50 tooth combo blade and cost around $55 retail. I have also bought their ultimate crosscut and glue line rip. The combo blade crosscuts just as well as the ultimate crosscut and it rips almost as well as the glue line rip if the rips are not too thick. The combo blade does not rip quite as well as the gue line rip in 8/4 walnut. FWIW, this is in a PM 66 TS.
