Hello all
Just thought I'd post this, pleased to say it seemingly works.
I made the handle a big honking thing at first, not realizing it would only take a finger or two to lock the table.
Angle grinder let the smoke out, so couldn't refine it further, as the welds were nearly ground off.

The bolt for the table had broken part of the threads off on this old saw, it had a hard life,
and the fix I made before it wasn't very good at locking it.
I had a big bracket clamping the trunnion segments together, but it would have fouled when tilted beyond the limit.
Doesn't appear like I need it yay!
There is a tight fitting block behind the plate which keeps things tight.
Seems I could nip off a wee bit of the cabinet off and actually be able to tilt it to 45 degrees now.

Makes you wonder why it isn't a done thing, just a plate with tabs, block behind it threaded m12, and a handle?
Someone could be making a mint if they had a machine for the job.;)

Bit of a struggle getting the table on, but it will likely be easier now the block is secure behind plate, and once I've done a bit of filing it will likely not be so bad...
hopefully.
