This was a piece of green birch that I turned all the way. It is 6-3/4" tall, 2-1/2" at the base and 8" at the top in one direction and 6-1/2" in the other direction at the top. The bottom is 1/4" thick and the sides go from 3/16" to 1/16" at the top

It is finish in Wacto and Beall buffed.

Thanks for looking

Dick, that is really nice. I like the soft, warm light on the inside. Seems to glow. How big was the log that it came from? And, can you teach my DVR to make things like that? :D

Daggone, Dick, that is terrific. I'm kinda glad I'm workin' on the cradle. That way I don't have to try and compete with you and the other folks around here. You're all just doing better and better work each time I look in.

That goes for all the newer members, too. I'm in awe of your efforts.

Real nice Dick. Next time show a picture in the lathe before you begin turning please. That way us newbies can understand a little better what we're up against.

Nice shape for a NE. Did you have to build some special equipment to get the top oval? (Just kidding:D). That's a lot of warp! I think it gives your bowl a lot of character.

Dick, a great looking piece and one that does not look like all the others. I happen to like the conic shape as it gives a view of both sides of the piece well. Beautiful finish and incredible thinness. Good job!:D

Yessir Dick, that's a dandy! Did you use your steady on this to get it so thin?

Great looking bowl and a super piece of wood!

Thanks for the picture!
