Looking for some advice on rewiring a 1930s era Packard electric motor. My neighbor is rebuilding an old Craftsman bandsaw that this motor powers however the power cable was cut right at the terminals and I can’t find a diagram for wiring up a three prong 115V plug. Any vintage motor gurus out there? Please help

neutral goes to #1. Hot goes to #2 or #5. You are adding a green ground. It is not the same as the existing green wire. The existing green goes to #5, yellow to #4, red to #3, etc
Add your ground to any screw holding on the cover plate or under a motor mounting bolt etc.

Thank you for the reply, so if I’m wiring a 3 plug wire the white would go to #1, Black to #2 or 5 depending on the desired speed, and green to a mounting screw. Is that correct?
