A friend was over in Seattle cleaning out his grandfather's house and called asking if I was interested in some drafting tools. I said "sure". Got this stuff yesterday from him.

Been wanting a #71 so am pretty tickled. The rest of the stuff is icing on the cake. Also go a pretty nice tackle box.

For those new to the forum, Steven’s comment is a compliment. Long story and strange controversy behind terms we all used to understand, but trust me, it is a compliment.

Kris, that looks like my Type 4 No. 71: 1892 – 1895, between 126 and 129 years young.

It's the Elder Statesman in my shop, and I love it. Some would say it's primitive by today's standards: no hold-down, no dial adjustment, no fence, no fancy aluminum. But it's a super tool and actually quite easy to adjust precisely. You can get all the blades you need through Lee Valley (and they appear to be in stock). Enjoy!
