Source for Fluorescent Fixtures

I need to add four 2 light 4 ft T8 fixtures to my gar.... er, shop before it turns too hot to be in the attic down here in Fla. Anyone have a good (cheap) source for these?

Dick, I tried and tried to find fixtures on line, no luck. The best prices I found are the ones at Home Depot. 2 light, 4 footers are 25.50 each here. The 4 light 8 footers are 42.75. I have some of each.
If you need bulbs in qty of 25, I just received a box of 25 32W 6000K 95 CRI T8 Fluorescent Lamp case/25 $47.50 plus 17.19 shipping. The box of bulbs is packaged in a slightly larger box with styrofoam popcorn around it. Very well packaged. None broken!! The brand on the bulbs is Ushio and says it is made in Germany. Jim.

There you go Dick, throwing around those oxymorons - good and cheap. What you need to do is look for an electronic ballast fixture for the T8 lamps. A good ballast brand is Advance (http://www.advancetransformer.com/products/fluorescent-electronic.jsp) , I was told by the electrican that wired our house.

Don't even waste your time and gas by going to the Borg(s).

I bought my T8 shop fixtures at HD for $8.00. This included a plug & chain for hanging.

I have about 30 lamps from HD of various configurations. The $8 ones work just fine, even in cold NH in my unheated at times shop and garage. I like the next step up with the reflector. If yo need parts, just buy a whole $8 unit and strip it. Replacement ballasts are $8. I also have some $40 units from the local electrical supply house. Made in USA and all. No better that the HD units.

Dick - I ordered mine online from Grainger. They have a massive selection. I didn't realize there were so many types of bulbs.
