Looking for feedback from any users of Makita LS1440 miter saw.

I am looking for a precise miter saw for furniture making, rather than deck building. Something that will cut hardwood, as clean and precise as a table saw with a good sled.

Was ready to pull the trigger on Omga 1P300, but Omga Canada would not sell to me, because it "takes 30 seconds for motor to come up to speed" and the 5 that they have sold all got returned for this reason.

So the Makita LS1440 is looking like it might do the job because:
1. Cast iron table.
2. No sliding and no compound cuts, just a pure miter saw.
3. Made in Japan, as far as I can tell.
4. More expensive than other miter saws from Makita or Dewalt
5. 14 inch blade.

But I don't have a chance to touch and try, so really appreciate feedback from anyone who has used Makita LS1440 for precise cuts in hardwood.

thanks in advance

Steven
