i am trying to make a stool and i have watched a few videos on you tube about combined miter cuts,,and i have tried serveral different approaches to it,,,,and i am ashamed to admit it but i just cant seem to get it right,,i clamped a straight board to my workk bench after i made the cuts and got the bevels right on the bottom right,, but on the top it always come out in a peak,,,i am thinking the top miters should be level with each other,,and i have turned it serveal different ways to try to get to get it level but when i do the angle on the bottom dont match the top,,im not the best woodworker but i dont consider myself a novice either,,,but this has got me stumped bad,,,,any and all help would greatly be appreciated,,thank you

Can you post a photo of what you have done and/or a sketch of what you are trying to accomplish. Even though you won't be able to see the photos the contributors can.

I have a tutorial on how to make a stepstool with splayed legs. See here (https://mikes-woodwork.com/StepStool.htm).
