Hey hey we're the Monkeys
and people say we monkey around
but we're too busy singing
to put anybody down

If this gets stuck in your head maybe it will vacate mine. It has a catchy tune, and the lyrics are easy

Enjoy

I get knocked down, but I get up again
You are never gonna keep me down
I get knocked down, but I get up again
You are never gonna keep me down
I get knocked down, but I get up again
You are never gonna keep me down
I get knocked down, but I get up again
You are never gonna keep me down

I used to sing Monkee's tunes, but my wife said that she hated them.
At first I thought she must be kidding,
But then I saw her face, now I'm a believer. Not a trace of doubt in my mind. :D

Well it is now.

I heard a thing on the radio recently, that if you finish singing the whole song, your brain will let it go. Something about your brain cant leave a song incomplete.

Does any remember "The Song that Never Ends"? No. Hum a few bars you will remember it in no time.

On our honeymoon my wife and I went to Disneyworld. When we went on the It's a Small World ride it broke down and we were stuck on it for almost an hour. The song was blaring at us the whole time.

Nuke it. Just to be safe do it from an orbital platform.

It still goes through my head even after visiting Disney World 30+ years ago.

I have "music worms" regularly if I listen to music. I have a deaf friend, a fellow CI user who we exchange pokes on FB just to see if we can get a "worm" going in the other guy.

This reminds me of a story a few years ago about some sort of electrical failure at the Small World. The circuit that failed was the one that moved the boats. But the song continued.

I wonder how often that happens. The same thing happened to my kids and me. They gave us a couple of go to the front of the line passes to other rides.

While back I found the old “Sunday Will Never Be The Same” tune. Been singin’ and whislin’ it. Might have to get therapy

My ringtone for getting a text is Baby Shark. You can always replace it with the song Bingo was his name-o.

Baby Shark is the worst. At least the Sponge Bob theme has a plot.

Yeah, probably 30 some years ago when i first heard it, and it still occasionally comes to mind, along with

There's a booger in the sugar,
no "it's not", no "it's not"

LOL... not a song but reminds me of-

When you're out with your honey
and your nose is runny
well you may think it's funny
but it's not

It feels like this is a reference to one of my favorite movies......which I just happened to watch this morning while doing some stretching.

Private Hudson (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000200/?ref_=tt_ch) : [after the drop ship crash] Well, that's great. That's just ***** great, man! Now what the **** are we supposed to do? We're in some real pretty *** now, man!

Corporal Hicks (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000299/?ref_=tt_ch) : [grabs him by the shirt] Are you finished?
Newt (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001343/?ref_=tt_ch) : I guess we're not gonna be leaving now, right?
Ripley (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000244/?ref_=tt_ch) : I'm sorry, Newt.
Newt (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001343/?ref_=tt_ch) : You don't have to be sorry. It wasn't your fault.
Private Hudson (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000200/?ref_=tt_ch) : That's it, man. Game over, man. Game over! What the *** are we gonna do now? What are we gonna do?

Burke (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001663/?ref_=tt_ch) : Maybe we can build a fire, sing a couple of songs, huh? Why don't we try that?

(and one of the most quoted lines ever)

Newt (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001343/?ref_=tt_ch) : We'd better get back 'cause it'll be dark soon and they mostly come at night. Mostly.

As for songs and lyrics, I wake up most mornings with the last song that played on my playlist from day before. The only way to get rid of it is to start up the music and replace it with something else.

My 9th grade German teacher had me write a report about the song Lili Marlene. It has a nice tune with such melancholy lyrics and oddly, became popular with soldiers on both sides of WW2. First sung in German and then released with English Lyrics. About a soldier who is supposed to meet his intended fiance under the light at the main gate of the post and he gets orders to be shipped out and can't get word to his girl and sees her waiting for him under the light at the gate as his truck rolls past toward the front. At the front, he dreams of her and whether she thought he stood her up, etc. How he dreams of meeting her under the light. his little Marlene. Not a week has gone by in 55 years that I haven't caught myself humming that song.
