I do a lot with pallet wood. Not too hard to get the boards apart but pulling all those nails is hard. Yesterday I bought a small boltcutter. I clipped the nails sticking out to about 3/8" long. One hammer hit drives them up on the other side for an easy grab and pull.
Now I own several nice 1x4's of what I think is rubber wood for a small project to be decided.

Alternatively you could drive them partially out with a cheap pneumatic palm nailer. Somewhat faster.

+1 It works great. Also, get one of these, https://www.ebay.com/itm/194146176149?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-213727-13078-0&mkcid=2&itemid=194146176149&targetid=4581183927179143&device=c&mktype=&googleloc=&poi=&campaignid=418233787&mkgroupid=1241348861725295&rlsatarget=pla-4581183927179143&abcId=9300542&merchantid=51291&msclkid=12a4c1ae269a1ef78ffea1787c0300cf , or something similar or make your own and between the two you'll cut your pallet disassembly time way down.

How I wish I had one as a kid. I can’t begin to guess how many days I spent pulling, straightening and sorting nails.

Tom that would not have worked with these nails. They were about 3/8" too long. So they went through the wood then crimped over at 90 degrees. Would have taken a long time to get it straight enough to pound down. That power hammer would have just bent it more until it jammed in the nose of the tool.
It does look like it might work in some situations. Reminds me of the positive placement nailer I have, in reverse.
