Knocking projects off my honey do list prior to starting a hal Taylor rocker. My wife wanted a toy box to match our white oak furniture in the living room. This lil guy is 18” cubed with miter joints stabilized with Non contrasting splines and cast iron hardware and finished with Rubio monocoat pure. It gave me an opportunity to use my new bridge city planes, for all the haters out there those things are just amazing. Beautiful feel, lovely sharp. Highly recommend. For those that have followed my other builds, this is a significant divergence, kinda nice working with straight grained wood for once!

Well done Justin! I particularly like the way you carefully match the grain so that it flows continuously around the chest and I think the hardware is fantastic – a perfect match to the oak. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Very nice box. I especially like the carved dog.
