Red oak and paduak?

padua? Any one glued up them together, I have a board of paduak I want to use for thin strips between the red oak staves and segments or would walnut be a better choice for strips?

Personally I would lean toward the Oak. Walnut and Padauk are rather dark woods, and I think the combo might not "pop" like you'd hope. This mallet is White Oak and Padauk.

Padauk should show fine but I like it with yellow heart and also with maple better though.
