I took the arm and top wheel assembly off my delta 14" bandsaw to move it. Any hints on how to hold the bolt from turning and get it all lined up. This has the 6" riser block.
Problem is the bolt pushes up out of the the pocket that is supposed to stop it from turning. If the bolt shifts too far, in the slot at the base of the arm, it can not be tilted into place.

Wold some grease on the bolt be enough to keep it from moving.? We used to do this when assembling tools that caused similar problems,

It looks like I used some silicone caulk when I did this 30 years ago. I think grease would not help. But, I will keep it in mind

That would work even better Bill.

I may drill a 1/8" hole in the arm so I can push down on the bolt head with a piece of welding rod.

got it done. then key was paying attention to the keyhole slot and keeping the angle so it stayed in the slot not the bigger hole. A 1+1/16 box wrench helps.
