Has to be a Art Form---Heck it aint good for anything else.
The side walls are so thin you have to pick it up with two hands
It's 12 inchs wide and 4 deep-----weighs in at 17.1 ounces.
Has about a gazillion or so coats of clear--well maybe more like 40 coats.
There is no oil added to this Sycamore---the tree died standing and the wind blew it down.
Hope you enjoy.

Hi Gary,
Looks like it was a real fun piece to turn. We don't often find Sycamore with that much charterer in our area.

Sounds like 5 oz. of wood and 12.1 oz. of finish! Looks great!! I did have to laugh at the last picture - my grandma had a hat that looked just like that!

Bill----the tree must of been dying for years---at the base one side was almost rotted out from decay. Like you said I aint ever seen a Sycamore like this one. We spent two days logging the tree and getting it back to the house.

Gary - real pretty. Thanks.

I've never played with sycamore. The pictures may well be misleading, but they make me think it's somewhat soft. True or False?
