Robert, your choices are going to be limited with regard to the bed length you require. (I suspect you are going to be working with columns) You can buy the big OneWay (http://www.oneway.on.ca/lathes/2436lathe.htm) (20" or 24" swing versions) with that spindle length and much more if you need it, for example. The stock 60" bed plus a 60" extender gets you "there".

Welcome to SMC!

Thanks Jim for the lead.

Yes columns ,large posts are my plan ,have you used this lathe ? I need a good heavy machine ,the tail stock looks a little weak.but its hard to tell by pictures.also are the ribs plum on the sides ? sometimes I cant get the toolrest holder under the turnings and I attache a temp on the front .
thanks again

Here's the baby you're looking for. You might need an overhead crane to set it where you want it but this would get the job done.

For what you are looking for I would suggest a used machine from an industrial distributer. I have seen pattern maker lathes with 20' between centers...
