I thought that I needed more space in my shop so I decided to make a flip top tool stand. Three days later I have a flip top stand which is an absolute monster, taking up far more space than what it was supposed to replace. Thankfully I didn't have to buy anything to build it, I had just about everything in my shop to make it. Tomorrow I plan to take it apart:o

Why did you build it so big?

Why did you build it so big?

Well, I usually build from a plan , this time I didn't, I was just winging it as I went along . And ,as I said, I created a monster. Believe it or not I actually bought a plan and then proceeded to ignore! Why? Just play stupid☺. But as I tell my children, we all make mistakes, you just need to learn from the mistakes. What I've learned is FOLLOW THE PLAN.
As an aside not only was it too big, but to put my planer on it , which I use almost every day, (its on the bottom in the picture) I had to take off the dust collector and disconnect the dust collector hose to get it on the stand. All in all , the definition of a fiasco.
