Made a box for a kitchen drawer with a face frame. I made the box exactly1” less than the width opening. It took a lot of tweeking to get it working. I am using blum supports on the back. I read on a drawer box vender site to order boxes 1 1/16” smaller. Any thoughts here. I have 3 more boxes to make when I get some lumber.

I think an extra 1/16 couldn't hurt and would probably help. I've had a few drawers bind up on me at exactly 1 inch. Sometimes the drawer is not exactly square and sometimes the cabinet is slightly tweaked out of square also. Your opening might be perfect but side to side distance might get thinner at the back of the cabinet and that could cause binding too.

My experience is you need a little more than 1". If you do them like ball bearing slides they will bind.

All the epoxy slides I've used have one side with tracking groove and the other side flat so it can float to accomodate out of square or slight misalignment.
