Does it work with wood thicker than 1mm?

I think the technology has quite a distance to go. The sheet that is transparent is extremely thin. Penetrating a thicker board is a world of difference.

If you can make 1mm-thick wood that is truly transparent, you can use it to make transparent plywood. Use a clear glue like epoxy.

Translucent would be a much better descriptor. Notice that objects that are not almost touching the wood film are blurry?

Very interesting. I would imagine that the possibilities would be limitless once the process is refined. Glass windows were far from clear when first invented.
