Tolerance for blade paralle to the slot

I been working on this to the point I took the top completely off and reinstalled it. 1.75 Hp Sears Craftsman professional cabinet saw. When I tighten the top down it moves out of alignment. Took off the lock washers. Right now it is at .004. I ordered a new Infinity blade. I have a Diablo on it now and will check when the new blade comes in. I have always set the blade to miter slot @ .001-.002 max. I-gauge instructions say .005 is within tolerance. This seems pretty sloppy to me, but at this point I am reluctant to spend more time trying to get it less than .004. I think I am experiencing tool fatigue.

Can I get away with .004 and get a proper cut?
