Just roughed out this hammer tonight and put it to bed to let the glue dry. Hope I left everything concentric as I still need to finish it up. I did leave it oversize so I have some material left to remove.:D:D

That is looking good! I want to make a few handles for tools and hammers etc. for the shop as well. Nice work!

Nice work, Jim. Before you remount it, make sure you take a little time to have it in your hand (thrashing it about) so you can insure that the handle diameter and profile is comfortable for said hand. Very important!

Jim I did leave it over size so as to make it concentric with the head. Mounted it this morning and it turns pretty smoothly. Will test in hand when I get it rounded up again. Then finish by sanding it.

Well Jim now you can really get hammered :) did you attache the head to the handle with a tenon?

Yes sir tenon 1" in diameter 1 1/2" long. Had to groove the tenon so glue had a place to come out of the head. I'm glad I thought about that as it probably would have split the hammer head if I hadn't, it was that tight.

Hammered on Welchs grape juice or Folgers coffee and I there:)
