Glue release agent

I have used Waxilit with good results over the years. But my can is running out and i discover it to be available only from the manufacturer for $11 and shipping is $15 additional.
Does anyone have a good glue release agent similar to Waxilit that works for them?. And yes I know tape works but a paste is faster and much easier.
