This one was a booger to turn because I had to patch the void in the bottom to keep it from flying apart, but I was successful in keeping it together. It is 14 inches wide X 7 inches tall, and finished with lacquer. Your comments are welcomed.

OOOOH, OOOOH, wonderful. I am always amazed at these natural edge wonders. I have only tried one and it turned into firewood and compost. I admire those that can do such fine work and Glenn you can do fine work!

Wow!! that is a thing of beauty! Can you tell me how you use the lacquer? I have tried using it on a bowl and it really looks crappy. I applied it to a walnut bowl.

Thanks.

All of these kind and gracious remarks have me blushing. I appreciate them from a group such as you, thanks. Rich I used Deft high gloss spray lacquer right out of the can, spraying light coats, letting them dry, and then spraying again, and again. This took me about a day. You can get a super lacquer finish hand rubbing a piece on the lathe with pumice stone and rottenstone. Some people let the lacquer cure for a week or 2 and then buff, but I have not had much success with buffing lacquer. I think it is because I am so heavy handed.

Hi Glenn,
The turning is outstanding. The finish is top draw, a combination to be proud of.
