With the help of some other Creekers I got my shooting board done for trimming the bevels on this profile.

So far this is just a mockup to get the required jigs figured out. Got most of this glued up this last weekend when I realized I made a faux pas. I was feeling real smug as I was gluing this up as the bevels all came out real accurate and the glue joints are maybe some of the tightest I've ever done. This shooting board stuff is tres cool. I had a sudden flash. Went back and checked my work against the design and sure enough - I glued up the wrong pieces. The pic shows 2 pieces with 15° on both edges, 2 pcs with 15° on one edge and 90° on the other, and 1 pc with 90° on both edges. I found myself staring at a 3-pc glue-up with all 3 pcs having 15° on both edges. ARGGGHH - Back to square one.
(Fellow idiots - now is the appropriate place to return the palm-slapping-forehead salute)

So I get the top 4 pieces of the profile glued up (correctly this time) and then realize I have another problem. The bottom pc of the profile is intended to be attached to the jewelry box case while the top 4 pieces are the actual lid. I wasn't thinking far enough ahead. I need to cut both of these at the same time to work out the jigs I need to make to do the joinery on this Frankenstein. I should have cut the bottom 2 pieces as one piece, done the joinery stuff, then cut it apart later. So now I've got to attach the bottom piece to the other 4.

Here's my thoughts on possible options:
1) Use double face tape to attach the parts. I'm concerned that this might let the parts move slightly though.
2) Use one of those paper glue joints? I've never done one though. Am I supposed to have a layer of paper on each edge with glue in between? Or just one layer of paper between the two edges.
3) Use a hot melt glue in just a couple of spots to hold the parts together?

Any thoughts?

Here's what I've got so far:

Surprisingly - I ended up at 90° - must be luck.

These shooting boards sure make for some nice tight glue joints.

These are the 2 piece that I need to temporarily attach.
