Live Center

Which is the best live center to use in the tailstock for bowl turning? The one I have now I believe they call a cup center. I have also heard the 60 degree live center is used a lot. Any recommendations? Thanks

The 60° live center is only required for use with pen mandrels. Your cup center should be just fine for wood projects.

I agree with Randy.

The cup helps hold it in the center where the 60 degree will travel.
