According to History.com 195,000 Americans died of the Spanish flu in October 1918
To do that 6,290 people had to die each day. For the entire month. The carnage was horrible.

Due to the civil war death lists being posted in local post offices. President Lincoln instituted home postal delivery so people would not realize how many were being killed.
