We had one of those rolling blackouts a couple nights ago. In this area the power company now shuts off the power when there are very high winds to avoid downed lines starting brush fires.
Power went off around 5 in the evening, just as darkness fell, and went on at 3 or so the next afternoon. I decided to read a book, and got out a flashlight. Went to bed at midnite, and up at 5, then went back downstairs to read some more. I finished the 400 page novel about 7:45. I still needed the flashlight at that time to read.
I never imagined I would read a whole novel by flashlight.
