Bandsaw blades

I have an opportunity to get some 142 inch carbide tipped blades. My saw Jet 18 inch takes 133 inch blades. Would it be worthwhile to have them cut & welded. Thanks in advance, Kevin

Certainly might be if there is a local place. Not worth paying any shipping.

As my bandsaw blade maker told me, carbide tipped blades are for sawing veneers. I did try out one that was a Lennox, I think, and though it lasted a good while, the teeth were so tiny, they could not be resharpened. Not worth it. Also, they do not have the wider set necessary for cutting wet wood.
