Oneway 17" Extension?

I was thinking of getting a 17" extension for my Oneway 2436 to turn bowls from the other end of the headstock. Anyone have experience with this setup?

I have a oneway with an extension. I inherited it and never have use the extension. But they sell two extensions. One is mounted lower down (I have the one that it at the same level of the regular bed). If I was to buy an extension I would buy the lower down one that lets you turn large objects. I am not sure the price difference. Also, I think other companies sell a free standing banjo/ tool rest (or you can make one) and you can turn outboard without the extension.

If you were to buy a freestanding tool rest from another company you need to make sure the height is correct or very close.
