Grizzly 16” Jointer G9953ZX - Fence

Hi all,

Does the Fence on the G9953ZX suppose to ride on the outfeed table? Do they not provide a means for it not to scratch the beds?

it rocks slightly when adjusting as well which will scratch if not etch the both beds..

if anyone can shine some more light on this I would appreciate it.

If it doesn’t sit on the bed I will probably sag and never be square to the table when you need it.
My jointers fence sits on the tables I have some wood blocks attached the the back and slightly under to keep from scraping up the tables. My fence assembly weighs easy 80 lbs.
It should be a easy modification lots of different ways to get it done.

Your right. That fence weights a Ton. I bought some stuff that should do the trick. Thank you for the insight

If the bottom of the fence is wide enough, use some of that UNMW material on the fence. I got some from Woodcraft in 3/4" width for a past project. The material has a peel and stick backing to attach it. This should stop any damage from the fence movement.
