I know this is off topic but I would like to at least find some explaination for this problem which is every winter the rubber air hoses on my compressor get a very sticky or greasy feeling and in the summer it tends to go away. When I am not in the shop, I turn the heat off and the temperature goes down to approx 40F. When the shop is in use, I turn the heat on to get approximately 65F. I have a quick disconnect on the hose thusly it has pressure in it at all times. This is just wierd and some how I don't understand what is going on with these hoses. Should I not keep pressure in the hose when not in use?

Different materials are affected by tempuratures in many ways. Perhaps the material your hoses are made of is very much influenced by the season. I switched to Flexeel hoses a few years ago and they behave the same no matter what the season. I love 'em. (Review on my site)
