Beauty of a box, Greg. I love the proportions and I love the wood, bubinga is a favorite. I assume that the field of the lid is koa. Never had the opportunity to work much in koa. Nice job!:D

Greg, great looking piece. I haven't tried Bubinga (yet) but it appears very much like well seasoned native black cherry that I am familiar with. Nice job on the finishing of the maple which compliments the bubinga nicely.
I would like to see the construction details and how it goes together, as well as the finished product and how you trim out the interior.

Very nice box! The design and wood look great. What is the veneer on the top. I have not seen any bubinga that looks like that.
