I saw a thread the other day that had a box that reminded people of a bullet. I wanted to show a box that I made for a friend. ( We are both in law enforcement!) It is a .40 pistol round. I took measurements of the actual bullet and then multiplied everything by 8 to get the dimensions. Made from Texas pecan and Texas walnut. It is approx. 8 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter with a 4 inch hollow inside. Thanks for looking!

First one of them I have ever seen. Quite a novel idea, and a nice turning as well.
I must say, at first I was mashing the heck out of the mouse button, to get your first photos up.

Looks great, Bill.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>:)

Robert - You're going to need 14 more if you decide on building a magazine for them. Did you make the primer pocket for it too?:D Nice work...

Robert, I am the guy who posted the other bullet box. Yours was done intentionally and it looks great. My box sort of evolved on the lathe as I turned. Have you made other calibers? I think it would open up a whole new field of turning, bullet reproductions.:D

Great idea and execution! Now all you have to do, if so inclined, is come up with a unique utilitarian gadget that goes on a desk incorporating this, and sell it to some national peace officer association as gift ware. NRA might be another outlet.
Come to think of it, I have friends on the set of "Deadwood" who might be interested in ones based on antique rounds, ca 1870s. Some of them are national re-inactors, and there's another bunch you could market to.

Looks good. But I want to know where you found Texas walnut. I haven't ever seen any walnut trees in the DFW area or the San Antonio area that I recall.
