But here it is again.

I live in Galveston County Texas and tools will rust in my garage shop.

I coat tools that tend to rust, like card scrapers, with Johnson floor wax. I clean the scraper with steel wool before applying the wax.

I did this again this morning.

Hardin/Jefferson co to line. I cover all my machine surfaces with magnetic sign material from amazon. Stops all rust. Easy to do

You have to keep the tool surfaces above the dew point. Either raise the temp or lower the water vapor. If you can control the air movement a dehumidifier can do both. Even though it will raise the temp some, it may feel cooler with a lower relative humidity.

Gary That is a Great idea with the magnetic sign material :) You could also cut it to the shape of the surface for a Perfect fit ..

Living with Texas coast humidity and temperature swings the magnetic material clings tight enough to the metal surfaces to eliminate the surface exposure to the air and also provides enough of an insulation barrier when we are in the dew point/surface temp/ humidity convergence range. I got 24” wide x 10ft rolls and cut to size for each machine. Saves a lot of time and frustration
