Laguna Magnetic switch with 2 reset buttons ??

I recently bought a used Laguna mdc 3560 3hp cyclone dust collector, had to do a little fussing around making it ship shape enough to turn on and not blow dust all over the place. After doing so i push the button and unless I hold it in it just shuts right off, I thought it might be one of the two reset buttons on the mag switch??

Sounds like the stop switch is bad. Jump around the stop switch with a short wire and try to start it up.
