Just returned from Klingspor where all the stock is S2S. and spent a delightful 20 minutes getting the edges smooth and square to a face of a nice piece of Sapele.

I have one in a display case in my office. It is too special to use. Plus I have a full collection of Bedrock planes with Veritas irons and breakers that I use.

Well....when a 100+ year old Sargent #414c can still do this, WITH the original iron and chipbreaker..

Why would I bother to add expensive, aftermarket stuff....that usually won't quite fit the plane...
Of course, seems all my planes can do the see through schtick..
