I plan to purchase some sandpaper belts for my newly purchased Powermatic DDS-225 Drum Sander and find there is quite a selection available. Any recommendations? As suggested I plan to use 120 grit on the front and 180 on the rear. To get started I installed 80 grit on the front and 150 on the rear. Both came in large rolls by Jet and apparently are manufactured by Klingspor. Also, I just watched a few videos on installing belts and some show installing from the spring tensioning left side. The Powermatic manual and the way I installed the first belts show installing from the right side and finishing with the tensioning mechanism. Seems to me starting from the left is easier and should provide the same results. Also, I found that leaving a slight gap of about 1/16" between laps worked out best leaving the ends even. Any suggestions or comments?
