Refinishing a knob and tote on a Stanley Jack.

I was watching Paul Sellers and it seemed he had his own special mix for that. I have to repair the horn on this tote and then finish both knob and tote. I did not have any rosewood, so I ordered some online and when it comes I will repair the piece. I would like to arrive at the deep, rich red that Paul did. Any suggestions?

I just watched a 2007 thread on making a tote by Chris Jones. I am just blown away by the overwhelming wealth of knowledge here. Now rather than the tedious work I was intending of making and attaching the broken horn, I will just make a brand new tote. Can't wait!
