Here are a couple of small mesquite boxes turned from some scraps I had in shop. My first boxes from mesquite but not my last. It turned beautifully.

The first little box is 2" in diameter and 2 1/4" tall. It has an infitting lid due to circumstances resulting from a lack of control....:o

The mushroom shaped box is 2 1/4" in diameter and 2 1/2" tall. It was more fun to turn.

Thanks for looking.

Mike these are excellent as usual. Love the forms and finish. You do a great job of matching the grain as well.:) :) :)

Wow Michael!
The grain orientation makes these forms really dynamic.

Mike you make these boxes so fast I can't keep up. In box turning I don't even see your tail lights any more. Mesquite turns very nice indeed. Your work is always a pleasure to see. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us.

FYI - I have a lot of silktree and some killer gloden locust burl. The silktree box you made for me is one of the pieces everyone wants to pick up when they see it in my display cabinet.

OK...you made the decision for me. I am going to find some mesquite somewhere!:D Beautiful boxes, Mike.

Maybe I can find someone who wants to trade some mesquite for one of my pocket pots.:p

Mike

How come your scrap looks better than mine? A couple more nice boxes. Connie and I had ours down the other day admiring it again.
