Hi,
Here's my sticky problem and I need your advice. Is there any short or long term problems using contact cement to adhere curly maple one sixteenth thick to mdf substrate? At this point I don't have any veneering equipment.

Thanks and best wishes for a Great New Year,
Dave

yes! contact cement ain`t for veneer, it will creep and cause bubbles. plain ol` yellow glue will work just build a sandwich using another piece of waxed mdf and some 2x cauls with clamps to apply pressure...02 tod

Look into using hide glue. I believe it is easier to use than yellow glue, and
also it can be repaired should it delaminate in 50 years. PVA will work
but you migh have better success with hide. Hide glue can be applied in a
number of ways, vacuum press, veneer press, or hammered.
