I have to replace a bent Rack on a Powermatic 2800 Drill Press. NO it cannot be straightened. I have read and seen YouTube videos where some take the head off and slide the new Rack on. I have also read & seen YouTube videos where they remove the foot and slide the new Rack on.
I guess this Rack bending & breaking was quite an issue with the 2800 model. Anyone actually made this repair and which end did you take apart.
