I finished a small vase I started on my Jet lathe with the Rikon, today. I left it on the lathe to show:

1. I did get the new Rikon lathe dirty!:D

2. So I wouldn't have to put a "dime" in the picture.:p

The wood is from a limb I got. Can't say what it is, don't know. Insect larva had been to it and left trails. I decided not to fill them. Kind of like the way it turned out.

Usual finish.....................Wiped down with Butcherblock oil to heighten the grain and 5 coats of French Polish.

Thanks for lookin'

Bruce;)

The new lathe seems to be working out nice, good looking vase and that wonder wood adds to its character. Ya know, as they say, seeing is believing. :D

Hay, I called you at the store yesterday, and they said you were out fishing. well you missed a sale, not so bad though, not much over $10.00.
