Here is an Osage bowl that I finished today. It had developed a few dozen cracks on the outside while drying from the DNA soak, but I was lucky and was able to clean them all up.

Beall buff finished and is 7-1/4" x 3-3/4"

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful !!. You consistantly knock me out with your work Dick. Really great grain piece. Just curious, what do you do with all the bowls you turn??

Cheers,

Dick, great job! Man I love that Osage. Feels good to hold an Osage
bowl in your hands, it finishes so smooth.

Nice bowl, Dick. Looks like you had just enough wood to finish it.

Looks really nice, Dick. Osage orange is a hoot to turn, especially the first few times...that bright yellow "stuff" coming off the tools is just unreal! It will also polish up wonderfully without any finish if you want to take it up through the grits to 600, 1200 or beyond.

Just goes to show what I said about Osage Orange is right.

Great wood .................... You "Done er PROUD", Dick.

Another great turning,
Sure do miss your signature ringed bottoms, ever going to bring them back?

Kent, they are starting to get stacked on top of each other now.:( I have been giving them away as gifts for awhile now.

Very nice finish well done .
I have a question,
Is Osage in the same family as honey locast?
I have turned lots of locast and looks real close to being the same .
Where is it from?does it smell sweet when you turn it?
thanks alot.

Nice one Dick! That sure is some bright Osage. I imagine when it ages it will be a really luscious cocoa brown. Beautiful finish.
