I need a 16" wide piece of cherry for a slant secretary desk. Any recommendation for a supplier?

I would contact Groff & Groff Lumber in PA. I have had great success with specialty cherry. Groffslumber.com

Probably because they poach logs out of the most carpetbagged state in the nation lol

That was going to be my suggestion, too, for wide stock. Louis specializes in it.

I've heard that from a lot of folks. One of these days I hope to visit there in person. It's a bit of an awkward trip between here and there just because of the way roads run, but I suspect it will be an great experience, albeit likely also an expensive one. LOL

I did not bring a truck, but used my Volvo for a 20 inch 12 foot mahogany board from Irion. Cracked my front window. Lesson learned. Pics are of one piece top and side from that board.

Been to Hearne and Groff also. The problem is you probably have to spend several hundred to get them to send you something. When building my pieces I wanted to have one wide board up front.

If you just need one piece, and like the figure ( same board ), PM me

I’ve bought several hundred board feet of walnut and butternut from Irion, all wide or quarter sawn. Great place!

Irion has 150 BFT minimum for shipping. Don't see that being very economical living in West Washington. I may end up going with veneer.

Many places have minimums for shipping...for good reason. The time and cost to prepare for shipping lumber so it gets to the destination in good condition isn't chump-change and the shippers have their own minimums, too.

Gilmer Woods in Portland Oregon.
Be warned, they have boards that cost as much as a car. ;)

I love PA. The lumber choices are an added bonus!
