Still working on that wine cabinet. Getting farther along. Was thinking about loose mortise/tenon, but also got to thinking about pocket holes as no one will see these once against the face frame. I have the Kreg jig. Is this an application for this to pull the joints nice and square and tight?

TIm,

I use the Kreg jig for face frames all the time... works great.

Just make sure you set-up the jig for 1 3/4 thick stock...

Good luck!

JJ, thanks, on 4" stock should I place 2 or 3 or more screws. It will be in solid cherry.

I've never done 4" frames...

But on a 2-3" I use 2 screws.

On a 4" I would use 3 screws... you have the space for 3.

Hi Tim,

I would use the longer Kreg screws for 2X4s. Cherry is soft enough it should not be a problem with the coarse threaded screws.
