My son picked up these table legs,$20. We’d like to restore them and build a new table top.... They are in rough shape. I’ve never attempted anything like this before so I’m looking for guidance on how proceed through this... I’ve posted some pics below.

Thank You for any and all advice...

If the cracks pull together tight with clamps, I’d just fill them with glue and clamp them. Same for the broken off claw...if it fits back nicely, just glue and clamp.

It'll be a lot easier if you paint them.

It's a nice fun piece, I would paint it. And I would consider using some type of flocking to make the paw feet "hairy
paw feet". Strangly ... most of them are just carved on....

I would glue the broken piece back on. I'd use Bondo to fill in the cracks and any missing pieces then carve/sand it to fit. And then I'd paint the base.

Yes, that's a bit rough...and I'd hazard a guess it live outdoors for awhile. Personally, I'd embrace the defects that came with time and exposure, whether it gets a clear finish or gets painted. What's most important is that you get it reassembled so that it's sturdy and safe for your intended purpose.
