Took a look at the Laguna Revo 15|24 110V in the catalog , and they list three different weights for that Lathe.

How much does that Lathe really weigh ????

288 (net weight) is what's listed in the manual, that seems about right to me given that it has a steel stand. 570 might either be a mistake or perhaps the weight including the optional mobility kit & outboard bed.

Some of the weight difference that you see is probably the difference in the weight of the packing material/crate that it is shipped in. Different woods have different weight. If the crate/pallet is made of pine or other soft woods, it would be lighter than say a crate/pallet made of oak. Just my guess.
